| Mr Giugiaro and Mr Mantovani are most certainly responsible for designing doors that perfectly integrate with the roof and for doing away with open drips and with any other aspect that caused aerodynamic rustlings. The first prototype implementing such measures was the 1979 Isuzu Asso di Fiori which started to be manufactured in 1981 as Isuzu Piazza (Impulse, in the USA). Having ascertained that the formula was not only feasible but also sound, Giugiaro put it into practice on the following projects: Fiat Uno, on the prototype Medusa and persuaded his Clients to adopt it as he went on (Renault and the Volkswagen Group for instance). The design world made the most of on this innovation which now is applied on a regular basis.
