| The last step in the process is testing in the laboratory and on the track to ensure that the vehicle will meet the homologation requirements of the markets where it will be sold (the company IDIADA-Giugiaro is responsible for the execution of this part of the project). The other testing activities, thanks to the extensive use of structural calculation and virtual simulation during the engineering stage, turn out to be a confirmation of the soundness of the process development rather than pure experimental research.
Testing is carried out in the fields of active and passive safety, vehicle dynamics, sound, vibrations and comfort, motor line and emissions, systems integration and durability.
In addition to laboratory testing, the vehicle is tried out on suitably equipped tracks in view of complying with the certification requirements for the models.
The feedback from the experimental tests can lead to a project being amended.
